Klein ISD Start Time to Change Starting Friday, Jan. 26, 2018 (Winter Storm Makeup Plan)

The district missed two school days in January due to the icy weather conditions. To meet the number of instructional minutes required by the state and avoid making up an entire school day on February 19, Klein ISD is adding one minute to the beginning of the school day starting Friday, January 26 and continuing throughout the remainder of the year.

Welcome to Krimmel Intermediate School

Krimmel opened in the fall of 2007 and is the eighth intermediate school to open in the Klein ISD. The campus serves the northwest part of the district. The building design was the first intermediate school to incorporate learning communities for different grade levels. This approach helps the faculty and staff to better serve the needs of the students. Krimmel is a one-to-one campus, incorporating the use of technology at all grade levels in all classes. Every student receives a Tablet PC at the start of the year to help with their school studies.

Krimmel Intermediate was named for the Karl and Phillipina Krimmel family. In 1846, the Krimmels came to Harris County with their children and were one of the first German families to settle in Klein. The Krimmel homestead was located at the southwest corner of Spring Cypress Rd. and Klein Cemetery Rd. The Krimmel name has lapsed over the years; however, there are many families living in the Klein area that include Krimmel descendants. There are Krimmels still living in Albshausen, Germany today.
